September 26, Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM 9:00 Arrival, Welcome, Introductions and Expectations 9:30 GOALS, CHALLENGES for Teambuilding and Coaching at YOUR WORK SITE 9:45 Floor Problem Solving “Puzzles” ; Debriefing Connection to GOALS, CHALLENGES 10:30 Introduction to Rock Climbing in 3 person Teams (climbing is not assumed or expected; yes, assuming role of coach, cheer leader, rope holder IS EXPECTED). Blindfolded and Tethered to Another Person Climbing offered. Debriefing: Connection to GOALS, CHALLENGES identified earlier. 12:00 Lunch (pizza and drinks on RockVentures) 12:30 High Ropes Course Circuit (Teaming up….climbing or traversing not expected; yes, assuming role of coach, cheer leader, safety observer IS EXPECTED). Debriefing: Connection to GOALS, CHALLENGES 1:30 Discussion on Personal Accountability for achieving GOALS and removing CHALLENGES. Stating one new thing you learned about self and others today. Final discussion on implications for your TEAM (s) at work. Target Audience: HR & Benefits Professionals, Managers, Supervisors & Leadership Teams This seminar is open to all. The cost to attend is $15 to RARES or SHRM members, $25 to non-members. Advance registration is required. A lunch will be provided. Location: RockVentures is located at 1044 University Avenue, Rochester, NY. Directions. Presenter: Kent Winchester, Owner & CEO of RockVentures & Shared Adventures is a certified DiSC Personal Insights Profile and OutComm Facilitator. Visual Mapping for teams to produce Vision and Mission Statements, Points of Culture and Strategic Plans. Kent previously taught at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he founded the Red Barn Leadership Training Program. In his time at RIT, he served as career counselor and mentored 25 world-wide Outward Bound Interns. After teaching students and staff "how to take risks," he realized that he needed to follow his own advice and follow a long-time dream; leaving his tenured, senior professor position and opening RockVentures in 1995. He has hosted the American Mountain Guide Association, Fortune 500 Companies, the University of Virginia (at their location) and many others.
